Job Summary

    The role of a Technical Director in the Energy and Utilities sector typically involves overseeing and managing technical aspects of various projects and operations within the industry. This role is responsible for providing leadership, expertise, and strategic direction to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of energy and utility systems.

Job Responsibilities 1

    Provide all technical support for all engineering disciplines to the potential investments, and determine the different phases, scope, budget, quality, and time.

    Support the Investment Implementation Department for all procurement, investment control functions and commercial aspects of the investment.

    Provide technical inputs to all HQ and site organization in accordance with the terms of the contract and advise taking of all measures necessary for the performance of the works.

    Be authorized to represent in dealing of all technical matters with the client and third parties, making statements and representations in connection with negotiations with the client.

    Provides technical, operational, and managerial leadership for successful development and implementation of the investment.

    Oversee all implementation of investments that are in line with the original plans and forecasts.

    Develop, implement, and monitor operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our key initiatives.

    Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for the performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.

    Manage the key stakeholder’s communication and requirements mainly the client, Joint Venture members (if any) and leading entities for all technical matters.

    Support that investment technical activities operate within the policies and procedures and comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards.

    Accountable on investment budget and baseline development for technical inputs.

    Contribute in decision making cycle through preparing consolidated reports and address any specific challenges, risks, and mitigations about technical matters.

    Work with functional managers in the development, implementation and operation phase in HQ and site organizations.

    Review and approve all design activities of the investments.

    Manage risks of all investments related to technical matters to avoid delays or reputational damage.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Extensive experience in the Energy and Utilities sector, with a proven track record of managing technical projects.

Strong knowledge of energy production, distribution, utility systems, and related technologies.

Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.

Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards in the energy and utilities industry.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 15 year(s) working experience, 10 year(s) in a relevant management/leadership position, 5 year (s) GCC and Central Asia is a plus
